Celebrating Women
Welcome to the month of March. We’re so excited that we’ve officially entered the month of Spring and slowly the days will become not only longer, but, better yet sunnier. This month, MamaSia proudly present celebrating inspirational women from all around the world. With our workforce spanning across two continents we wanted to acknowledge and highlight the amazing women that work within MamaSia and share with you the efforts and passions of the women behind the brand. From the women who grow and process Shea across the waters, in Larabanga, Ghana.
Meet Mama Matenso
Tell everyone how you spend your day, from waking up until when you sleep?
I wake up at 4:30am every morning for various daily activities. I typically clean the house by sweeping and dusting, I then bath my grandchildren & prepare them for school. After, I leave for the field to work and come back between 3:30- 4:00pm . I prepare supper at 6pm and go to bed at 9pm.
How important is shea butter to you?
I believe Shea butter plays an important role because “I use it to prepare my food dishes, from stews to soups”.
I also use it to massage my body after the daily activities. Shea butter is a great ointment with various herbs to rub all over my body, protecting me from harsh weather conditions .
Mama Mantenso, what do you do in your spare time?
I tell stories to my grandchildren and also relax when they are not around. During my leisure time, I use this opportunity to visit the extended families.
