The MamaSia Internship Programme
MamaSia is always on the look for bright young talent to join our growing team.
This internship offers a number of benefits to aspiring marketers:
Play a key role in one of the most exciting new brand launches in London, already featured in The Vogue and Stylist Magazine.
Benefit from an intensive 'grass roots' sales and marketing experience that will act as a launch pad for your career
Contribute towards the creation of a £bn industry for rural Africa
MamaSia is always on the lookout for bright, passionate and motivated young 'marketers-in-the-making' to join our six-week MamaSia Internship Programme. This isn't your average internship. There'll be no photocopying or making cups of tea. Every day, as brand ambassadors, you will be making a 'real world' contribution to the business and having direct interaction with its founders. Every week there will be half a day of training in different elements of the marketing mix, giving you the ideal springboard from which to launch your career in marketing.
At the end of the six-week internship, exceptional candidates will be considered for more long-term roles.
Within this period MamaSia plans to intensively support the launch of our first product, Shea Wonder'The 100% pure Shea body butter', which we believe has the potential to be worth a billion dollars to rural Africa. Your role will be threefold:
1) Creating awareness and driving sales by promoting MamaSia Shea butter in a variety of stores across London, including Whole Foods Markets, Planet Organic and Harrods. As well as offering tastings, you'll be explaining where the Shea butter comes from, its amazing benefits, and how it can benefit rural Africa.
2) Building relationships with and providing training to the staff of new retailers that come on board during the process
3) Contributing daily feedback 'from the shop floor' and generating ideas that will help shape the future of the business
You'll be given full training beforehand and be supported by ongoing media activity throughout the internship. Every day we gather for a big debrief around a cup of tea where every team member communicates their feedbacks, observations and creative ideas.
You need to be smart, confident and outgoing. This is a face-to-face role where enthusiasm and an outgoing personality are essential – wallflowers need not apply. Ideally educated to degree-level, you'll bring a can-do attitude to the role. Further longer-term opportunities at MamaSia may exist for the right candidates.
Send us a copy of your CV with a covering email explaining what you bring to the role and why we should recruit you. We'll acknowledge every application and candidates will be invited to a brief exploratory meeting. Please send your application to
